Jen is a research fellow currently working on the AQUEDUCT study, which aims to investigate how teams that manage crises in people with dementia operate in order to develop and implement a resource kit. Jen has previously investigated the relationship between mild cognitive impairment and mood as part of her PhD and continues to explore research in this area. Outside of research Jen is a keen baker and goes swimming almost every day.

Crisis can occur in a person with dementia for many reasons that may be related to the person’s physical health, risks and hazards at home, social changes, behavioural changes, or problems that a family carer is facing.

Both hearing loss and dementia become very common as people get older and it is therefore to be expected that a lot of people will have both problems eventually. As readers of this blog will probably know, there are about three-quarters of a million people living with dementia in the UK.
