This deeply touching, funny and unique play is about life on a dementia ward from the perspective of the patients, the staff and visitors, and has toured Derby, Nottingham, Canterbury, Coventry, Exeter and Leicester in February and March 2015.
In 2011, Professor Justine Schneider and colleagues at the Institute of Mental Health, University of Nottingham, published the results of a study of dementia wards, based on observational research. From this material Tanya Myers, co-Artistic Director of Meeting Ground Theatre Company, was commissioned to create a play. Following the success of a 15 performance run in 2013, the production toured to 6 venues across England.
Our course, 'Self-care for direct care workers in dementia', is based on excerpts from the play.
