Art sparks discussion and memories for people with dementia in gallery tour
Five dementia sufferers were taken on a tour of the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) by the program co-ordinator of the National Gallery of Australia's Art and Dementia program.
People with dementia can come to the gallery from local nursing and care homes and embark on discussion-based tours of works of art.
The experience has been shown to provide intellectual stimulation and social inclusion, and allowed participants to express their thoughts and opinions in a non-threatening environment.
