Music memory box helps people with dementia recall their past

A University of Brighton design graduate has created a music box for dementia sufferers that is filled with RFID-embedded objects that, when moved to certain spots, prompt related musical tracks.

The project is an innovative and practical application of recent research that says music memory is retained in dementia sufferers, and could be utilised to trigger other linked memories.  The project has now been nominated for a Dementia Care Award.
