Olympian visits dementia charity to highlight Sport Relief work

Olympic gold-medal winner Denise Lewis has visited a Newcastle dementia charity. The heptathlete visited Dementia Care, in Brunswick Village, as part of a drive to highlight projects which have benefited from Sport Relief funding.

Denise’s visit, which can be seen in the episode of the Great Sport Relief Bake Off from Wednesday 3rd February 2016 sees her spending time with local residents Linda and Hughie.

Linda and Hughie met when they were 16 and 15 respectively, and have been together for 51 years.  Six years ago, when Hughie was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 59.
